Location

Cachinnare is located at the Innovation Centre, on the prestigious Warwick Technology Park, just a few miles from Warwick town centre, and a few miles from Leamington Spa in the opposite direction. It is also ideally situated very near to junction 14 of the M40 (the Leamington exit).

Coming from the north or west, take the exit at J14 of the M40 and go straight over at the mini roundabout. You'll come to a roundabout after about half a mile. Follow the signs for the Warwick Technology Park.

Coming from the south beware the fact that J14 is a southbound exit only. Leave at J13 and follow the A452 towards Leamington and Warwick. When you come to the roundabout follow the signs for Warwick technology Park.

When you arrive at the Park, follow the road around (it is a crescent, both ends of which open onto the main road - Gallows Hill) until you reach the entrance to the Innovation Centre. The barriers are normally lowered during out of office hours so arrangements may need to be made to get access.

As you drive in, follow the road to the left - the reception is in the middle corner of the left-hand building (which is L-shaped). There is visitor parking just outside the reception.

Project Management Software

Cachinnare employs experienced project managers who are familiar with well-known Project Management software packages like Microsoft Project. This kind of software can help greatly in the planning and management of non-trivial projects, and is frequently used in many businesses both as a planning/management tool and also as a communication tool, since the project data can be shared as documents or as a central database, and viewed in graphical and tabular formats as appropriate in a very clear way. Typically the well-know Gantt charts provide very easy to understand representations of the progress of projects, while tasks and resources are easily viewed in spreadsheet-like tables and more detailed forms.

For companies that have not seen or used this kind of software, but would like to try out simpler, single-user versions (which can never-the-less share some data files with other users), there are a number of free project management software packages available on the web, for Windows and Linux, and other platforms. Generally the functionality is much more limited than many commercial packages, but they may be a good introduction and possibly all that's needed for small to moderate projects.

For Linux you could try "Planner" (which used to be called "MrProject". It's open source, available from planner.imendio.org.

For a free Windows-based package you could try out Smartworks Personal Edition, from Accord Software and Systems Inc. Go to www.smartworks.us. This has the fundamentals for small to moderate projects, it has quite a nice looking interface, and can be upgraded to their commercial multi-user client-server based system.

If you are not familiar with the basic standard techniques, principles and tools of project management, then we recommend taking a course or reading some good books on the subject. Or of course you can call Cachinnare to speak to one of our experienced project managers. For more information, contact our sales department.
